The world champions are out!

The Danish pair Mathias THYRRI/Amalie MAGELUND (Denmark, n°22) made it against Seung Jae SEO and Yu Jung CHAE (South Korea, n°4) in the first round of the Yonex French open after a tremendous game (19/21 21/19 21/11).

The atmosphere was already strange after the Corean pair won the first set by the slightest margin, but things got really intense when THYRRI and MAGELUND took the second one. After a close start for the third set, the world number 22 took the edge at the break (11/8). Their consistency and accuracy put the world champions in a very difficult position from which they never managed to get out. The Danish did not leave anything but crumbs to put an end to this match and create sensation in Rennes.

For their first confrontation against SEO and CHAE, they won in three sets (19/21 21/19 21/11).
