Denmark Open before the French Open !

Juste before French Open in Paris, best badminton players are expected in Odense, for Denmark Open, from 18 to 23 october.

Viktor AXELSEN and Akane YAMAGUCHI, for a new title ?

In his country, the giant Viktor AXELSEN (n°1) would do everything to save his title. His first game will be against Kunlavut VITIDSARN (n°10, Thaïland) for an exciting first round ! Another face-to-face could bring its share of surprise with Jonatan CHRISTIE (n°7) and the Danish H.K.S. VITTINGHUS (n°20). On the other hand, Kento MOMOTA (n°2) won't be in Denmark. The Japanese player, who was in the draw for now, would not participate to european tour. In women single draw, Akane YAMAGUCHI (n°1, Japan), winner in 2021, will face the Danish player, Line H. KJAERSFELDT (n°24). The impressive Japanese player, will do her best to win another title. During the first round, Carolina MARIN (n°5, Spain) will be opposed to Mia BLICHFELDT (n°15, Denmark) before, logically, face Nozomi OKUHARA (n°10) in quarter finals.

Japanese players, in Odense to win medals

The men's doubles favourite, Takuro HOKI/Yugo KOBAYASHI (n°1, Japan) will try to to do the same as in 2021. They should access quarter finals, where they should meet Malaisians ONG/TEO (n°9). French players, Christo et Toma Junior POPOV (n°20),will face Danish ones, Daniel LUNDGAARD/Mathias THYRRI (n°52) before, logically, be opposed to other Danish players, Kim ASTRUP and Anders RASMUSSEN (n°7), finalists in 2021. In women's doubles, the Coreans KIM So Yeong/KONG Hee Yong (n°1), at the third place last year, would like to win this year. The Chinese pair, JIA Yi Fan et CHEN Qing Chen (n°2) should reach quarter finals where the Corean JEONG/JIM (n°9) should also be there. In mixed doubles, a first game should be exciting with Danish players Mathias CHRISTIANSEN/Alexandra BØJE (n°9) opposed to the Malaisians TAN Kian Meng/LAI Pei Jing (n°10). Yuta WATANABE/Arisa HIGASHINO, seeds 2 and winners in 2021, should logically join quarter finals. In French team, Thom GICQUEL and Delphine DELRUE (n°7) will face the Coreans LEE Yu Lim/Young Hyuk KIM (NC).
