The Vikings are ready to attack
With their world ranking 30, the young Vikings (A. BOJE and M. POULSEN) started the opening game sparing no effort. During the first half of the game, the Malay pair C .S LIM and V.HOO had a quick lead of 4 points. However, the fierce Danes managed to catch up during the second half of the game 21/12 .The opening game seemed to be relatively easy for the young Danish pair. The second one did not cause them much trouble either: with a fatal jugement indecision from the Malay pair, this first encounter between the four young players ended with 21/14 as the final score .
STOEVA sisters VS Chinese Taipei young pair
The STOEVAS are, in some sort, home based players for the French Open. Playing in Issy les Moulineaux Club, the Bulgarian sisters Gabriela and Stefani quickly activtated their full energy for the first game 21/18. They had some trouble for the second one. 12/10, 13/11… finally , the Taiwanese pair (YC. HSU and LC HU) secceeded dragging their opponants to the final game. 21/8, with no doubt , the two sisters were determined to send their opponents home.
Thailand VS Denmark , again...
World top 10 pair from Thailand J. KITITHARAKUL and R. PRAJONGJAI, offered their first show during this years’s French Open. Fortunately, their tight agenda of these past weeks did not wear them out . The logic has been respected . 21/16 and 21/12. Within 37 minutes, the Thai sisters ended the journey of their opponents : J. FINNE-IPSEN and M. SURROW from Denmark.
Other results : The Canadian pair K. TSAI and R. HONDERICH witnessed their victory in this first round 21/17, 21/12, it took the world number 22 pair only 36 minutes to knock out their first opponents ( K. Marran and H. Ruutel) from Estonia.
Next, the Indonisian pair N. MARWAH and P. SYAIKAH eliminated their competition rivals A. MAGELUND and F. RAVN from Denmark within 54 minutes ( 21/16, 21/16)
Last but not the « easiest »…..the Spanish pair, C. AZUMENDI and B. CORRALES finally had to pack up after the first day’s matches. 21/17 and 21/19, with a very close score for the second set, the Danes ( M. FRUERGAARD and S. THYGESEN , N°16)caught the last train to their next stop of this year’s French Open.
