MS - FINAL : Olympic champ too good for CHRISTIE
The Indonesian Jonatan Christie made his entrance on court knowing a huge challenge was waiting for him. “Our head-to-head is not good. He leads 7-0 but I’ll try my best,” stated the current world number 7 yesterday in mixed zone. Today he had to concede defeat to a well playing CHEN Long, once again winner here.
The match was quite tense at first in terms of play and scoring. They offered the crowd an amazing performance and they showed huge respect to each other. The Chinese managed to take it 21-19. The following points went pretty fast : the rallies became shorter and CHEN Long became even better at every corners of the court, leaving CHRISTIE struggling until the end.
Despite an obvious fighting spirit from Jonatan CHRISTIE, his opponent had once again the keys to prevail over him. The one who missed an opportunity to win a Super 750 title in Denmark last week, got to win the another one in Paris. Final score: 21-19, 21-12.
