NEW GENERATIONS OVER THE OLD

The Korean AN Se Young faced the famous player from India, Saina NEWHAL. After a withdraw from her opponent in 2nd round, the Korean made her appearance on court, knowing she had more rest. Spending less time as possible at early stage is important to recover well and be ready for the next round. She obviously used it. The Korean was better on court and seemed in control. The seventeen year old defeated Saina NEWHAL in straight games to reach the semifinals, 22-20, 23-21. 

ANOTHER DAY ANOTHER WITHDRAW

The 7th seeded Chinese HE Bing Jiao had some difficulties to recover from yesterday’s match. Indeed was forced to retired after loosing the first game to the current world ranked n°2 Akane YAMAGUCHI, 21-13. The title holder is progressing to semifinals in control. 

TAI TZU YING CONTINUES

This is certainly one of the most incredible match we had the chance to watch today. The current world ranked 1, Tai Tzu Ying met the World Champion Indian, PV Sindhu for a spot in semifinals. We couldn’t have expected less! Both player offered an amazing performance at every stage: long rallies, perfect technique, no easy mistakes and an obvious fighting spirit. But at the end, this is Tai Tzu Ying who prevailed after 1 hour and 15 minutes of play with a score of 21-16, 24-26, 21-17. 

CAROLINA MARIN AT THE END OF THE NIGHT

It was past midnight when Carolina Marin won her match against the Thai Ratchanok Intanon. With this two world-class champions, the crowd had the chance to watch an amazing encounter.  For the last match of the day, Carolina Marin brought the entire audience with her. After a tense 3 games match, the Spanish can exult : she finally reaches the semifinals of the event. Final score: 21-18, 17-21, 21-14.
