WD – QF : Korean pairs alerted their future Japanese opponents

Japan versus Korea is the semifinal cast at the French Open. 2017 champions Chan/Jia wouldn’t join.

The world number 3 Japan’s Fukushima/Hirota annihilated Hsu/Hu from Chinese Taipei 21-11 21-7. They will face Korea’s Lee/Shin who bested the Stoeva Sisters in 2 straight games 21-11 21-6.

The rematch of the last year semifinal was tantalizing: the 2017 champions against the 2018 runners-up. But the Stoeva sisters, who appeared mentally and physically tired after the last night exhausting match, suffered determined Koreans.

China is out. Chen/Jia and Liu/Xia tried to trouble Japanese plans to no avail.

World number 8 Kim/Kong confirmed their last victory at the Korea Open last month and defeated the 2016 French Open champions Chen/Jia 21-16 21-12.

Matsumoto/Nagahara, world number one, improved to 4-0 their head-to-head series against Liu/Xia with a victory in straight games 22-20 21-17.
